At 512 pounds, Bob Bedford decided he needed a major change in his life. He wanted to be around for his two young daughters. He didn't want surgery, and opted to lose weight through diet and exercise. Bedford sought help at the Medical Weight Management Clinic at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. He also joined the local YMCA and exercised every day.
